Kara St.Cyr, Career Coaching Director
Kara’s passion lies in helping others succeed…in life and in career. She is energized by sharing her knowledge and experiences to motivate and encourage others to embrace the possibilities and opportunities in life; to learn more about themselves and to claim their power. She is a professional who uses a combination of experience, intelligence, warmth, honesty and humor to interact and connect with others.
Kara started as a Bonfire client. As she applied what she was learning, she noticed a new enthusiasm and vitality about life. As she explored what her passion was…she realized that coaching is what was calling her…she knew that using the Bonfire methods completely changed how she lived her life and that’s how she wanted to help others succeed. Kara’s hard work as a client led to her accepting a position in the Executive Leadership Development Center of the Saudi Electric Company. She became a Certified Bonfire Coach prior to leaving so that she could “take things to a whole new level” in helping her international clients challenge themselves to reach their full potential.
As a Career Coach, Kara employs her expertise, background, tools and methodologies to help clients: identify what they would love in a career; pinpoint the search and be seen; develop their own personal brand; navigate the interview process to be the memorable and hirable candidate; be most effective in the first months as a new employee; grow with and positively impact the organization and those with whom the client may come in contact along the way.
With 20+ years’ experience in the training and development of employees across the board, from new hires to leaders, Kara has a unique perspective on the key characteristics that companies look for in an employee and their leaders. With this knowledge and the Bonfire toolset, she helps guide her clients to success; whether it’s a new job, a promotion, or a whole new career.
In addition to her professional background, Kara’s volunteer work aligns with her desire to see others succeed. She volunteers as a Board Member for San Diego High School’s GeoTech Academy helping to identify student learning opportunities outside of the classroom. She also acts as an Industry and Community Partner for the Academy and provides training and coaching for high school juniors and seniors to prepare for direct entry into the workforce. Students learn how to write their “elevator” pitch, create an effective resume, prepare for job interviews and develop a professional presence. As a volunteer for Dress for Success, she worked with clients to teach interview skills and conducted mock interviews to build confidence in how to present themselves throughout the hiring process.
Kara is a woman of faith and draws strength from her connection to her higher power. She gains clarity through meditation. She believes that each individual has what it takes to be successful, however, they choose to define it. Kara prefers to spend time outside soaking in the beauty and grace of nature. She’s especially drawn to a beautiful blue and swimmable ocean where she can walk the beach for miles.
Do you know the path, the journey you want for yourself? How exciting and fulfilling would it be to find your passion and go for it with all you’ve got? Coach Kara would love to work with you and help you identify, reach and even exceed your goals. The best time to become your best self is now.
