THE CURSE OF BLESSINGS
It is both a blessing and a curse to feel everything deeply. What an exquisite human experience we find ourselves in.
There was a time when I traveled multiple days a week to a new city, speaking and meeting with groups of people in workshops and large conferences. Before I got on the plane, I would visit the airport bookstore and find a small book that looked digestible within the plane flight’s span.
One book I found, The Curse of Blessings, has become one of my all-time favorite books.
The opening story shares of a curse that has befallen our hero, a police officer. In the story, we learn how important each new day is and that endless blessings surround us. How easy it is to turn away from the gifts each day brings.
The book and its perspectives changed my life forever. It brought more calm, peace, and ease of being to my soul.
What we typically consider blessing is of favor and kindness. Yet we can also negatively bless someone with our criticisms, judgments and ill will. Our thoughts, good or bad, are influential creators and we get to choose which we wish to expand in our world.
When we become mindful of our words’ power and our thoughts, we take responsibility for our lives in more profound, more meaningful ways.
May we choose to bless others with our kindness.
I send a blessing to you….
May you find a blessing right in front of you at this very moment.
May you see the world with new eyes and a fresh new breath.
May the world unfold to you with grace, love and wonder like never before.
I send to you the curse of blessings that each new day offers you more blessings and that your heart feels full, connected and of love.
